Commence Honeymoon Phase #2
So a brief summary of the past 2 weeks' events:
- Consulted the "Green Ray" personality analysis machine at a clown cabaret
- Ate a lot of cheese
- Got too drunk at The Quiet Man, swaying to Quebecois folk music
- Got married
- Got tossed around on chairs to Klezmer music
- Drank a lot of champagne and posed for a lot of pictures
- Said goodbye to the small yet powerful American wedding contingent
- Took 10-hour flight to the Maldives
- Learned how to SCUBA dive
- Saw sharks, sea turtles, billions of fish, a sting ray the size of a carpet, a baby manta ray in the blue, and many ass rays.
- Requested "Dock of the Bay" to be sung by a three-piece Filipino mariachi band
- Read a book that I am ashamed to have read in its entirety
- Looked at the stars over the Indian Ocean and the moon shaped like a lemon
- Fell asleep on my terrasse, on stilts over the water, listening to the waves crash at the far end of the lagoon.
- Sweated a lot
- Got two massages, a facial, a pedicure and a flower aromatherapy bath (all with my HUSBAND, who had the Balinese spa girls saying "You so funny!")
- Watched a lot of movies...fell asleep watching a lot of movies...
And now we are back in Paris to start Phase 2 of the Honeymoon, in which the bride and groom lounge around in their apartment with their cat and stroll about the capital for a week, ignoring the work world around them. Tomorrow night is the honeymoon seder, Thursday we are staying at the Kube Hotel and going to the Ice Bar, Friday is pub night and Saturday is poker night. It's like being on a cruise ship!
So I must go and be romantic. Mr. Assray is back with our Honeymoon Turkish take-out.
Being married rules!
