Yesssss!

So, I am back a week earlier than expected with excellent news! I haven't slept really since my last post so please excuse any retardedness on my part. I finished my exams and I killed them, with the exception of one truly disturbing oral exam where the professor told me that I obviously have no interest in French culture because, other than the candidates names, I couldn't tell him what was significant about the 1995 French presidential debate. (Expected answer : the debate was uninteresting.) So yeah. Bite me. At least I didn't leave crying like a dozen other students. I tell you, this country makes the US seem like the world's most civilized locale.

In other news, the summer job search is over. I just received news that I will be working for 4 months at the Louvre, which is, like, totally wicked. (I don't know that is some kind of Boston Valley Girl-speak.) I am working in their translation department and--check this out--my contract is for 4 days a week and I get 2 weeks of vacation. Plus, there are statues--statues I tell you!--in my office. Statues of horses, as the wing used to be the royal stables.

Last night, I denounced all of France and all the people who live in this sorry, spoiled country, but today, all (well, almost all) is forgiven. I am off to take a nap before I have to give a class to a spoiled French engineer and then go get nutty with my classmates to celebrate the end of exams.

I hope to be a posting maniac in the days that follow.

After these messages, we'll be write back!

So, you've probably all noticed that I haven't been posting. Well, I actually got my working papers and started work on May 2. May is also the month of my finals and I have a concert on June 6. Not to mention my stressful and endless search for a summer internship. To preserve my sanity and be frank with my faithful readers, I am officially announcing a month-long break for Mandounette.

I will be up and posting again on June 7. Be sure to check in then.

Until then, enjoy the wonderful musings of Ctina on her newly-inaugurated blog titled Cafe au lait : where caffeine driven inspiration comes to nap, relax to the ambient sounds of the Erratic Ninja which you can download here, and just stay cool.

See you in June.

Mandounette
